MOBILE DEFENSE
As a core for our game we took mobile defense missions and expanded upon by adding mechanics from platformers, shooters and puzzle games. This design idea posed a great challenge, incremented by the multiplayer aspect of the project.

Fast paced and interesting gameplay
Early on, we decided that the cargo being protected was going to be a train, this allowed us to place tracks on the world that would guide the player. The top part of this train, being flat, allowed for the players to stand on top, allowing the team to design interesting movement based levels and combats.
Another early decision was that the train would be impossible to be manouvered by the players as we aimed for a reactive gameplay where players would have to adapt to the situations the train got them in. This allowed the designers to set the rithm of the game and solved many progression and combat problems.
In order to make this defense mission fun to play we put our focus on the player's mechanics, trying to make them interesing and simple enough to underderstand. That's how we got to the fast paced gameplay with a high mobility and the ability to combine shoots with your co-op partner, in order to create powerful combinations to deal with enemies.
